This hack, that could also be called “FF6 advance as it should have been”, basically replace the music with the original music from the SNES version (gone the aggressive fuzzy instruments). The framerate drops, although not entirely suppressed, are greatly reduced, so this version plays almost as smoothly as the SNES original. Final Fantasy 6 or ChronoTrigger for best SNES rpg? I doubt think you can't deny best jrpg on the snes. To bad we could never go to that island below the black bird before dark omen killed the.

Following the story of Terra, players who journey into the portable world of Final Fantasy VI Advance will learn to conjure and control creatures called espers by harnessing the power of magic. Gamers lead Terra through two worlds and a variety of environments as they fight the evil Empire.

Or very little I'd imagine. I know the PSOne version felt virtually the same. DaavpukeThere were actually quite a bit of differences between the GBA and SNES Vesion of FFVI. Donot give false information where as there are many differences in both versions. Now you are correct with the PSONE, they are quite the same, except that the game has a bestiary, fullmotion openings, a music player. Less censorship on the monsters, and the game is not FFIII on the title screen but FFVI. Now on the GBA version this one greatly differs from the SNES version.

The GBA Version has a whole new translation, two new dungeons Dragons Den and Soul Shrine, the game is extremely easy, which to me bothers me quite a bit.the game imo was not that hard to begin with but in this new port its far too easy. The Sound quality also is just imo pure garbage, and the GBA port contains the bestiary and the music player and what not in the PSX version but no Full Motion vids. Also, one of the most infamous changes in this version is the omission of a scene that is even in the original SNES version when Nintendo had a stricter policies. This is the scene where Celes Chere is introduced, and she is beaten by Gesthal imperial guards, this scene is completely cut out of the GBA Version.

Now I prefer the SNES version since the difficulty is not compromised do I will conceded that the GBA version has a better translation, but the easy difficulty turns me off from it.

Having grown up playing this game repeatedly on the SNES as Final Fantasy III, I can tell you that here in 2017 that this version of the game is the best you can currently play. I have played it on every system (including iOS) and have been watching my wife play it now on Steam. The new character models may be off-putting for some at the start, but you definitely get used to them quick and don't even notice anymore. The backgrounds and backdrops have all gotten an upgrade. If you emulate this and compare them side by side even with filters on, this is WAY better looking. Spell effects and attack animations have all been re-done as well. The music and sound effects are from the SNES version and the translation is from the GBA version. You won't see 'son of a submariner' here, but you will get a better translated story.

This version also has the bonus content that the GBA version had.You can switch the battle interface to be less of an eye-sore in the config menu if you don't like the pop-up menus.All-in-all, as of right now this is the definitive version of Final Fantasy VI and since it's on the Steam sale, there's no reason not to buy it. However, the game gets heat because of the sprites, which is a really stupid reason to hate a game in all honesty. I am personally getting to the point that the criticism has flooded into my YT channel. If people wanted to play a version with minimal issues, go play GBA and patch the Audio.

Don't ruin it for other people. Originally posted by:Pretty sure aliens don't play Final Fantasy games. Also you probably only like it because you never played the original. Even the GBA version didn't have such awful looking sprites.I played the opriginal, I love the original, i still like this, like i said, you don;t speak for everyone everywhereAnd I also just learned they censored the scene with Celes. Censorship is always wrong. Anyway the sprites don't fit the game at all.

Gba

The game had a darker story than most other Final Fantasy games. That's because this is based on the GBA port, not the SNES original. The SNES game came out before CERO, and the GBA version came out after CERO. CERO is basically the Japanese version of the ESRB or PEGI, and has fairly strict regulations concerning the depiction of violence. Hence changes were made. And while censorship is often wrong, it is not 'always wrong.'

That is a very, very narrow view. There are many cases where censorship is advisable, or even necessary. Especially in a market where age restrictions are not feasible. Anyway the sprites don't fit the game at all. The game had a darker story than most other Final Fantasy games.Censorship isn;t alway wrong, not everyone wants to a scene where Celes is being tortured, unless you want them to send the message that hurting women is ok, cause pretty sure if they kept that in, alot of people would be up in arms.

Video games don't even have age restrictions anyway. The ESRB isn't a regulation, it's a guideline at best. If it was an actual law then people would have to card every time like they do for cigarettes or alcohol.
